The short answer

For slopeside, the Mountain Club on Loon is the one property at the resort itself, by the gondola and the West Base ski school. Most people stay in Lincoln, just west of the mountain: South Peak’s Timbertown lift is half a mile from Main Street, and RiverWalk Resort runs a free shuttle to Loon. North Woodstock, next door, is the smaller and older village.

Getting around Loon Mountain

  • Free base-area shuttles run between Octagon Lodge, Governor Adams Lodge, South Peak and Escape Route — 7:30–11:30 a.m. and 12:30–5 p.m. on weekends and holidays, 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 12:30–4:30 p.m. on weekdays.[2]
  • Guests of Loon’s partner lodgings get a local lodging shuttle on winter weekends and holidays.[2]
  • Loon is 3 miles from I-93 — about 2 hours from Boston and 1.5 hours from Manchester airport (MHT).[8]
