Joseph 'Joe' Bondurant Ryan founded Mont Tremblant Lodge after a 1938 summit expedition; the ski resort opened in 1939. Tremblant says it installed Canada's first chairlift and the second in North America. Tremblant has four skiable sides, 102 trails, a pedestrian resort village and a major snowmaking system with 1,286 snowguns.
