The short answer

Stay at Jackson Gore for slopeside lodging with pools, tubing and the Timber Ripper coaster — Okemo’s own blog calls it the best base for kids. The Clock Tower base is the original main base with more condo bargains, and Solitude Village is the budget mid-mountain option. Inns in and around Ludlow, some about a mile from the slopes, are linked to the mountain by the resort shuttle.

Getting around Okemo

  • Okemo runs shuttle routes linking the Clock Tower, Jackson Gore, Ludlow village and condo complexes such as Brook Haven, Timber Inn, Fox Run, Stoney Fields and Alpen Meadows (from the 2025–26 schedule, the latest Okemo had posted as of Oct 27, 2026).[2]
  • All day lots are free; Jackson Gore’s overflow lots have a free shuttle on weekends and holidays.[2]
  • Drive times: Rutland (RUT) about 30 minutes, with Cape Air from Boston; Albany 2 hours; Manchester 2¼ hours; Hartford 2½ hours; Boston 3 hours.[2]
  • Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express from New York stops in Rutland, 25 miles away.[2]
